TOWN MAYOR'S CHARITIES
2010 - 2011
Town Mayor, Councillor Philip Judd and Mayoress Wendy Judd

FRIEND is a Community Mental Health Resource Centre with bases at 39 Oxfords Street, Weston-super-Mare and 69 Old Street, Clevedon. We offer a range of services including advocacy, specialist support groups, 'drop-in centres, Citizens' Advice Bureau, Yoga, Art and Holistic Therapies.
FRIEND works with people to rebuild their confidence and to develop their skills and talents. We have a strong ethos of user empowerment and social inclusion.
We welcome people of working age who feel they need support with mental health issues.
RNLI Weston-super-Mare Branch
Last year, the voluntary crews here at Weston-super-Mare saved the lives of 13 people and launched over 50 times. Nationally over 9,000 people were rescued at sea. The RNLI beach lifeguards at various beach locations in the UK assisted an additional 10000 people. Money raised during 2010/2011 will go towards the cost of training new crew members, purchasing equipment and maintaining the boats here at the Weston Lifeboat Station. The RNLI are determined to ensure that this voluntary service can be maintained and continue to save lives at sea 24 hours a day throughout the year, often in the most extreme conditions.
I therefore pledge my support to all three worthy causes,
and hope that you will join me in supporting
them.
