Weston-super-Mare Town Council
Established in 2000, Weston-super-Mare Town Council is based at Grove House, also known as the Mayor's Parlour.
In 1889 Town Commissioners (the earliest form of elected local government established here in 1842) purchased the 8 acre Grove Park and Grove House from Cecil Smyth-Pigott, Lord of the Manor, for the benefit of the people of Weston-super-Mare.
Weston-super-Mare Town Council is the 'parish' council for the town. It has 31 Councillors who take no allowance and is the only democratically elected body that exclusively represents the people of Weston-super-Mare.

Town Mayor's Charity Ball

Last Years Town Mayor & Mayoress, Councillor & Mrs. David Hitchins held their Charity Ball fund presentation evening at the Weston Museum in Burlington Street when they presented £8600 from the 2013 Mayor's Charity Ball, to various local Charities, Voluntary Organisations and Community Groups.
This Year's Mayor & Mayoress, Councillor Keith Morris & Mrs Jocelyn Holder will be hosting the Mayor's Charity Ball at the Winter Gardens on Saturday 15th March 2014.
The Ball starts at 6.45 p.m. with a drinks reception in the Prince Consort Hall, followed by a 4 course dinner and live music by the Lipinski Band. During the evening there will be an auction and draw. Businesses are invited to donate prizes for the draw which can be delivered to Grove House, alternatively phone 01934 632567 and collection can be arranged.
The Mayor of Weston-super-Mare, Councillor Keith Morris said 'For over thirty years the Town Mayor has held an Annual Charity Ball to raise funds for local organisations. It is a great privilege for me to invite you to this year's Ball which will support my chosen charities; RNLI (Weston), Weston Hospicecare and Freewheelers EVS. We would like you to join us for this fantastic evening.'
